May never walk. May never speak. I cried again when he was born and his feet were twisted. And I cried every time I had to do his physiotherapy and manipulate his feet back into the opposite direction. He is seven now, and I still cry - when I think I could so easily have lost him - but he is happy and healthy. His feet are fine. I shall never stop worrying: welcome to motherhood. I cried again just now, remembering the little bundle he was. Enjoy yours. xLux

In response to:The Mothership has landed

Reading that brought a tear to my eye!!
I've got 4 kids in their teens and twenties so it was a trip down memory lane for me so, without wanting to sound corny or patronising ... enjoy it. The going isn't always easy (to say the least) but blink and it's gone.

By the way, our eldest was in special care for 24 hours so I know how difficult and worrying it can be. But he was soon fine and a noisy handful once he was sorted.

Good luck and enjoy!

In response to:Went to a Parenting class today.

How exciting..I do hope all goes well..i'm sure it will
He flew off to Tunisia this morning on his first holiday with his girlfriend (bless). But really, it's not rocket science. Women have been doing it for years, and some of them without screaming. Do they still ask you your shoe size? as it apparently is on a par with the size of your pelvis.

As I said to my Doctor at the time. Well, I expect a size 3 need a huge medical team in a large teaching hospital. I, on the other hand being a size 6 will just squat behind a bush in the garden while you talk me through on the mobile.

In response to:Went to a Parenting class today.

Thanks. It would be slightly odd of nature to make us the only mammal who can't give birth naturally without being in pain! 8lb 6oz sounds like a particularly reasonable size! My sister's kids have all been 9lb or over... I won't know what to do with one that's slightly smaller if I get a 6 or 7 pounder. I think I'll feel like I might break him! It's a "him" by the way. I hope I'll be proud of my son in 2 years like you are of yours. x

In response to:Went to a Parenting class today.

Honey, I managed to give birth without screaming. I only had gas and air, and they kept telling me to get mad!! What? I told them I was concentrating. At one point they told me I was crowning and would I like a mirror. Why I asked? Has my mascara run? I kept taking great big gulps of gas and air, and no, not always with contractions. I just liked it! What I am trying to say is. Yes, it hurts, but if you can focus, you will be fine. PS. My boy weighed 8lbs 6oz, so he wasn't a tiny little scrap. And today he is a strapping 21 year old handsome boy and I am SO proud, and you will be too. Keep in touch and all the best.

In response to:Bored now.

Nothing nicer than a pregnant woman thats for sure.
